Who is responsible for your data
Psy. Moustafa Kamel, operating as Moustafa Kamel Psychotherapy, is the data controller for information collected through this website and in the course of clinical work. You can reach me at moustafa.therapist@gmail.com with any question about how your information is handled.
What information is collected
- Contact details you provide, including your name, email address and any message you send.
- Booking information processed by the scheduling and payment provider, including the date and time of your session.
- Clinical information recorded in brief session notes, kept to what is professionally necessary.
- Basic technical information generated when you visit the website, used only to keep it secure and functioning.
Why it is collected
To provide and administer psychological services, to arrange and confirm appointments, to meet professional record-keeping obligations, and to respond to your enquiries. Your information is never sold, and it is never used for advertising.
Payments
Session fees are taken through a third-party scheduling and payment provider. Card details are entered on the provider's secure page and are never seen, processed or stored by me. Their own privacy terms apply to that transaction.
How your information is stored
Clinical notes and contact details are stored encrypted, on reputable services with access controls, and are accessible only to me. Sessions are not recorded. Paper records, where they exist, are kept locked.
Limits to confidentiality
Information is disclosed without your consent only where the law or professional duty requires it: a serious and imminent risk to your life or someone else's, a safeguarding concern involving a child or vulnerable adult, or a valid court order. Wherever possible I will discuss any such disclosure with you first.
How long information is kept
Clinical records are retained for the period required by the professional and legal standards applicable to my registration [insert retention period], after which they are securely destroyed. Enquiry emails that do not lead to therapy are deleted within [insert period].
Your rights
You may ask to access the information held about you, to have inaccuracies corrected, to restrict certain processing, or to have data deleted where no legal or professional obligation requires me to keep it. Write to moustafa.therapist@gmail.com and I will respond within one month.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses only what is necessary for it to function. If analytics are added in future, this page will be updated and consent obtained where required.
Third parties
A small number of providers support this practice: the appointment scheduling and payment platform, the encrypted video platform used for online sessions, and secure email and storage services. Each is chosen for its security standards and processes data only for those purposes.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your jurisdiction, and to my professional registering body.
This page is maintained by the practice and is provided for information. It is not legal advice. Please have the final wording reviewed against the regulations that apply in your jurisdiction before publication.
