Terms

Terms & conditions

Clear expectations protect the work. These terms describe how this practice operates and what each of us is responsible for.

Last updated: May 2026

The service provided

Psy. Moustafa Kamel provides psychological assessment and psychotherapy to individuals aged 13 to 70 and to couples, online by secure video. Services are delivered under the professional and ethical codes of my registering bodies.

Not an emergency service

This practice does not provide crisis or emergency care, and messages are not monitored continuously. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services or nearest emergency department.

Booking and fees

Sessions are booked through the scheduling page for the country you are residing in. Current fees are displayed before you confirm. Payment is taken securely at the time of booking. Fees may change with reasonable notice; changes never apply to a session already booked and paid for.

Session times

All individual and couples sessions are 50 minutes. Sessions end at the scheduled time regardless of a late start, so that the following client is not delayed.

Cancellations

Cancellation and rescheduling are governed by the cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

Confidentiality

What you share is confidential, subject to the narrow legal and safeguarding exceptions set out in the privacy policy. Those exceptions are explained at the start of our work.

Professional boundaries

To keep the work safe, our relationship remains a professional one. I do not accept social media connections from clients, do not enter into business or personal relationships with clients, and do not provide clinical support by message between sessions.

Your responsibilities

  • Attend sessions at the agreed time, in a private space, and not under the influence of substances that would prevent meaningful work.
  • Provide accurate information about your circumstances, including any other care you are receiving.
  • Tell me if something in the work is not helping, so we can address it.
  • Do not record sessions.

Clients under 18

For clients aged 13 to 17, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and complete the booking. The young person's confidentiality is respected within the limits of safeguarding law, and those limits are explained to everyone involved at the outset.

No guarantee of outcome

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process. While the approaches used are supported by research, no specific outcome can be guaranteed. Progress is reviewed openly and the plan adjusted where needed.

Ending the work

You may end therapy at any time; I would simply ask for a final session to close the work well. I may also recommend ending or referring on if a different service would serve you better, and will help arrange that.

Website use and intellectual property

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [insert jurisdiction], and any dispute will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.

This page is maintained by the practice and is provided for information. It is not legal advice. Please have the final wording reviewed against the regulations that apply in your jurisdiction before publication.
